Director, Digital Engineering – AI & Commerce Platforms (AI)

Location: New York, New York, USA (Corporate Headquarters)

Base pay range: $190,000–$225,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead the design, delivery, and evolution of scalable AWS-based platforms, APIs, microservices, and enterprise systems.
• Drive next-generation composable eCommerce platforms supporting omnichannel customer experiences.
• Develop AI-enabled capabilities such as personalization, search, conversational experiences, and automation.
• Guide modernization through cloud-native, event-driven, API-first, and modular architectures.
• Establish DevOps, CI/CD, security, governance, reliability, and engineering productivity practices.
• Shape technology roadmaps, manage vendors, govern the SDLC, and lead and develop engineering teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software or platform engineering experience, including 3+ years in leadership roles.
• Experience leading teams and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and partners.
• Experience building and operating applications on AWS or similar cloud platforms, including compute, storage, databases, and APIs.
• Strong understanding of backend systems, APIs, distributed architectures, microservices, and scalable system design.
• Experience with AI/ML capabilities in production, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Understanding of eCommerce or retail environments, cloud security, governance, compliance, and platform modernization.
