Trade Compliance Specialist – EMEA (Customs Compliance)

Location: Kallo (Antwerp), Belgium; hybrid

Salary: €61,160–€95,563 gross annually, plus a 6% annual bonus target.

What you will do

• Provide guidance on customs compliance and international trade regulations across EMEA.
• Support customs valuation, tariff classification, origin determination, authorizations, and special procedures.
• Interpret regulatory changes and translate them into actionable business guidance.
• Support customs audits, investigations, declarations reviews, and interactions with customs authorities.
• Oversee external customs brokers and trade service providers while monitoring supplier performance and compliance KPIs.
• Partner with supply chain, operations, finance, business units, and external stakeholders to improve compliance processes.

Requirements

• Degree or professional training in customs, international trade, compliance, business, economics, or a related field.
• At least five years of experience in customs compliance, customs brokerage, freight forwarding, logistics, or trade compliance.
• Hands-on experience with customs audits, investigations, and customs authority interactions.
• Strong knowledge of EU Customs legislation and experience with customs valuation, classification, and origin determination.
• Experience with SAP or another ERP system.
• Professional fluency in English and Dutch; ability to work independently and influence stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience overseeing customs brokers or external trade providers.
• Exposure to export controls, sanctions, CBAM, F-Gas regulations, or free trade agreements.
• Experience in chemical, industrial, manufacturing, or other highly regulated environments.
• Knowledge of transfer pricing or dual-use goods.
