Senior Staff Engineer (Power Engineering)

What you will do

• Lead the design, architecture, validation, and market launch of new power generation and power conversion products from concept through production.
• Develop medium-voltage electrical systems from 1–38 kV, including power circuits, distribution, protection schemes, transformers, switchgear, busbars, cables, and insulation coordination.
• Plan and execute load, power quality, fault injection, performance, regulatory, environmental, and product validation testing.
• Perform load flow, short-circuit, arc flash, and protection coordination studies.
• Create specifications, schematics, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials while optimizing designs for cost, reliability, safety, compliance, and manufacturing.
• Drive schedules and cost targets, collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams, and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Extensive experience with power generation, conversion, and distribution systems, including medium-voltage switchgear, transformers, paralleling systems, and mission-critical power solutions.
• Strong knowledge of power circuit design, component sizing, thermal management, grounding and bonding, rectifiers, inverters, and DC/DC converters.
• Experience with medium-voltage standards, EMC/EMI, dielectric and hipot testing, partial discharge, fault injection, environmental testing, and product validation.
• Ability to independently lead complex cross-functional engineering projects and provide technical guidance to other engineers.
