Senior Project Development Engineer (Power Generation)

Location: Michigan, United States; travel typically less than 10% for site surveys, technical conferences, client meetings, and schedule monitoring.

What you will do

• Lead project development teams and coordinate work across engineering disciplines.
• Provide technical and contractual development engineering support for conceptual design and owner's engineer projects.
• Develop conceptual drawings, heat and water balances, technology comparisons, site due diligence assessments, and feasibility studies.
• Prepare project schedules, cost estimates, equipment quotations, bid specifications, technical memoranda, and bid evaluations.
• Perform pipe and equipment sizing, performance procedure and test reviews, reporting, and consulting.
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, land developers, economists, schedulers, estimators, and designers across the United States and occasionally other countries.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience developing and specifying industrial- and utility-scale power generation systems and equipment.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or another relevant engineering discipline focused on power generation.
• Ability to plan, schedule, and lead development projects while managing multiple concurrent assignments within established schedules and budgets.
• Excellent communication, analytical, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Willingness to mentor less experienced engineers and EITs.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in Engineering.
• Previous experience with an engineering consulting firm.
• Experience with simple-cycle, combined-cycle, cogeneration, distributed generation, reciprocating engine, combined heat and power, or renewable energy projects.
• Long-term interest in leadership or operations roles.
