Multimedia Producer

Location: Sacramento, California, United States; onsite

Salary: $24.00+/hour, commensurate with experience and skill level.

hirify.global operates KTXL-FOX40, a local television news station in Sacramento.

What you will do

• Produce television and CTV newscasts and assist with formatting other broadcasts.
• Research wire services, network feeds, websites, social media, current events, and community issues to identify relevant news material and story ideas.
• Write clear, concise, conversational news stories and present ideas in editorial meetings.
• Post and update stories on the station website and social media, engage viewers, and coordinate with web staff during breaking news.
• Coordinate interviews and guests as a morning-show booker and serve as a point of contact for studio guests and newsroom calls.
• Edit video and audio, build show graphics, and adjust quickly to last-minute changes during the on-air process.

Requirements

• Experience producing television newscasts.
• Knowledge of newsroom and web-posting software.
• Strong communication, writing, research, organizational, and news-judgment skills.
• Knowledge of current national and local news, weather, community issues, and social media engagement.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines, work independently under pressure, and make quick, accurate decisions on air.
• Strong initiative, attention to detail, journalistic ethics, and ability to collaborate with colleagues.

Nice to have

• Experience training or mentoring less experienced staff members.
• Ability to contribute across multiple areas of newsroom operations.
