Multi-Platform Content Producer, Writer & Fill-In Newscast Producer (Broadcast News)

Location: Full-time on-site in San Jose, California, at an hirify.global-designated worksite

Salary: $70,000–$105,000 per year

What you will do

• Write and produce news content for broadcast, streaming, digital, and social media platforms.
• Fill in as a newscast producer for assigned shows and special coverage.
• Collaborate with reporters, producers, assignment editors, and digital teams.
• Pitch, research, and develop original local news stories.
• Respond quickly and accurately to breaking news situations.
• Help create high-impact newscasts for Bay Area audiences.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of writing and/or producing experience in a medium-sized television newsroom.
• Strong broadcast news writing, editorial judgment, accuracy, and deadline-management skills.
• Experience producing television newscasts in a fast-paced newsroom.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate in a team-driven environment.
• Must be authorized to work unrestricted in the United States.
• Must work full-time on-site in San Jose, California; schedule includes evenings, weekends, holidays, and breaking news coverage. A valid driver’s license is required.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field.
• Experience in a mid-market or major-market newsroom.
• Familiarity with newsroom systems and digital publishing platforms.
• Knowledge of the Bay Area news market.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
