What you will do

• Originate and develop story ideas and concepts, especially for breaking news.
• Research, write, and produce stories and story packages for broadcast.
• Manage story placement, teases, graphics, writing, timing, and other editorial and production elements.
• Coordinate with reporters, video journalists, photographers, assignment editors, and newsroom managers on coverage.
• Coordinate graphic production and contribute to special news program coverage decisions.

Requirements

• At least two years of newsroom experience in a medium to large market and the ability to showcase a newscast.
• Fully bilingual in written and spoken Spanish and English.
• PC proficiency, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and social media tools.
• Experience with I-News, basic editing, newsroom systems, Interplay, scanners, teleprompters, edit bays, live trucks, LiveU, cameras, audio boards, and decks.
• Knowledge of the Hispanic community and its traditions.
• Must be available for flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
