What you will do
- Support the Department Head and Associate Department Heads with daily departmental administration.
- Coordinate faculty affairs processes, including recruiting and hiring, offer letters, tenure and promotion, reappointments, evaluations, and document organization.
- Manage confidential administrative matters, office procedures, compliance, records, travel arrangements, and reimbursements.
- Organize monthly faculty meetings, provide onsite departmental support, and take meeting minutes.
- Research information, monitor project timelines, analyze initiatives, and recommend process or service improvements.
- Assist with departmental events, budget development, and other assigned administrative duties.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least three years of administrative experience.
- Experience in higher education, office administration, or program coordination.
- Strong planning, organization, time management, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize work, exercise discretion and independent judgment, adapt to changing situations, multitask, and collaborate effectively.
- Strong knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
Nice to have
- Experience with Texas A&M systems such as Emburse, Aggie Buy, Interfolio, and Laserfiche.
- Experience managing research or academic programs at Texas A&M University.
- Basic website or online portal experience.
- Experience with project management, event coordination, budgets, or accounting matters.
