Senior Associate Director (Student Housing)

Location: College Station, Texas, United States; occasional evening, weekend, and emergency response work required

Texas A&M University is a large public university with a student-centered residential life and housing department.

What you will do

• Provide strategic oversight for the on-campus residential experience of approximately 9,000–9,500 students.
• Direct residence hall and apartment operations, personnel management, student development, conduct processes, emergency response, and student support services.
• Supervise two Associate Directors and lead cross-functional collaboration across university departments.
• Coordinate move-in and move-out programs, summer conferences, emergency response efforts, and other large-scale operations.
• Support strategic planning, budgeting, policy development, compliance oversight, assessment, and performance measurement.
• Represent Residence Life in university, state, and national forums and manage special projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least nine years of experience in Student Affairs or student housing.
• Demonstrated leadership, supervision, communication, multitasking, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work with individuals from varied backgrounds.
• Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
• Availability for occasional evening, weekend, after-hours, and emergency response duties.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Personnel, or a related field, or postgraduate work leading to a Ph.D.
• At least five years of supervisory experience and progressively responsible management experience.
• Experience at a large public university, with student engagement, student behavior, live-in staff operations, or college housing.
• Knowledge of student development theory, housing software, budgeting, administration, and facilities management.
