Lead Network Engineer (Cloud Networks)

Location: Richmond, VA or Lynchburg, VA. Hybrid work is required, with in-office days on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and core working hours targeting 9am–5pm EST.

Salary: $120,900–$187,000 nationally; $114,900–$178,000 for Lynchburg. Additional bonus incentive eligibility is available.

What you will do

• Translate infrastructure and platform architecture into cloud network requirements covering VNet/VPC design, subnetting, routing, segmentation, and traffic flow.
• Bridge architecture and cloud engineering teams, translating design intent into actionable implementation guidance.
• Guide private connectivity patterns using Private Endpoints, Private Link, and VPC endpoints.
• Support hybrid cloud and on-premises connectivity, including routing and DNS design.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for connectivity failures, DNS resolution, latency, and asymmetric routing.
• Improve cloud networking standards, consistency, performance, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and supportability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• 5–8+ years of experience in network engineering and/or cloud networking.
• Strong experience with Azure VNets, AWS VPCs, routing, BGP, segmentation, DNS, and TCP/IP.
• Experience with hybrid cloud connectivity, private connectivity patterns, and troubleshooting across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code concepts such as Terraform.
• Strong collaboration, communication, analytical, problem-solving, and technical translation skills.
