Trial Counsel-Entry Level

Location: Bellevue, Washington, United States. The role requires attending trials, depositions, site visits, and other case-related events, with travel as needed.

Annual base salary: $85,600–$141,200, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Handle a caseload of lower-complexity litigation matters under the mentorship and supervision of experienced counsel.
• Conduct legal research and develop litigation, negotiation, legal writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery materials, and other case documents.
• Attend court events, depositions, site visits, and other appointments, traveling as required.
• Provide case analysis and handling-strategy recommendations to insured clients and claim partners.
• Build client and business-partner relationships while using case-management technology and automation effectively.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of litigation experience as a practicing attorney.
• Juris Doctorate or equivalent international legal degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license in good standing to practice law in the state(s) where representation is required.
• Strong legal research, persuasive writing, oral advocacy, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to attend case-related events and transport to those events; a valid driver's license is required depending on the location.
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues, customers, and business partners and respond with urgency.
