Location: On-site in Augusta, Maine, United States

Base salary: $130,000–$145,800 per year, depending on experience and location.

What you will do

  • Develop construction and design standards for overhead and underground electrical transmission lines.
  • Write engineering and material specifications for equipment, conductors, structures, switches, poles, and related components.
  • Perform complex engineering analyses, designs, calculations, forensic analyses, and material evaluations.
  • Lead engineering teams, projects, task forces, and studies addressing complex transmission equipment and design problems.
  • Serve as a technical subject-matter expert, interpret design standards and industry codes, and recommend innovative solutions.
  • Review engineering work, mentor engineers, participate in industry associations, and communicate with regulatory and public entities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
  • At least 7 years of engineering experience; 10 years is preferred.
  • Specialized advanced training or a graduate-level engineering degree.
  • In-depth experience in electric transmission line engineering and knowledge of regulatory and business issues.
  • Ability to lead teams, mentor engineers, explain complex concepts, and influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to report to the office in Augusta, Maine.
