Surveillance Radar Installer

Location: Remote within the United States; travel required up to two to three weeks per month for 18 months. Work is performed during third-shift hours, from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM, and during facility shutdowns. Must be a US citizen.

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership and oversight for automation system installations through the Operational Readiness Decision.
• Coordinate STARS equipment requirements, facilities support, delivery, installation, checkout, and acceptance testing at designated sites.
• Perform site preparation, on-site installation, testing, closeout, and operational readiness activities.
• Develop and deliver site briefings, status updates, and technical reports to FAA sponsors, management, and project stakeholders.
• Maintain Knowledge Sharing Network site information and communicate installation progress, issues, and risks.
• Apply safety standards while working with sensitive electronic equipment and perform physical installation tasks, including lifting up to 25 pounds.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electronics, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Experience with hardware installation, system integration, testing, or field deployment of technical or operational systems.
• Experience working during off-hours, low-activity periods, or facility shutdowns.
• Ability to coordinate with sponsors, facilities teams, and technical support personnel on site-based implementation activities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical briefings and reporting of progress, issues, and risks.
• Must be a US citizen and able to travel extensively.
