TL;DR
Computer Engineer (Radar Systems): Supporting the analysis, design, testing, and in-service engineering of new and fielded radar systems at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center with an accent on hardware and software troubleshooting, engineering change analysis, and system performance. Focus on fault and failure analysis, factory acceptance testing, unique test environments, and technical risk and status reporting.

Location: Middletown, Rhode Island, United States; on-site support required with flexibility for occasional telework, and candidates must be local to the work location.

Projected compensation: $56,645.82–$98,496.09 per year.

What you will do

  • Support the Radar In-Service Engineering Agency team at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center.
  • Analyze, design, test, and enhance capabilities for new and fielded radar systems.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in laboratory and fleet environments.
  • Develop engineering change instructions and proposals, and perform gap, fault, failure, performance, and impact analyses.
  • Investigate testing environments, support factory acceptance testing, and document trade studies.
  • Prepare technical assessments, risk assessments, recommendations, and program status reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or computer science.
  • Zero to two years of professional experience.
  • Technical writing, presentation, documentation, communication, and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% and work hands-on with hardware and software.

Nice to have

  • Experience with process improvement methods such as CMMI.
  • Understanding of Department of Defense engineering design practices.
  • Active or very recent security clearance.
