Associate Senior Counsel

Location: Richardson, Texas, United States; regular attendance at hearings, trials, depositions, court proceedings, and other appointments is required, with travel as needed.

Annual base salary: $120,400–$198,700, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Independently manage moderate- to high-complexity insurance defense litigation, including potential Major Case matters.
• Prepare for and conduct trials, hearings, depositions, and dispositive motion arguments; negotiate resolutions and try cases to verdict.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other substantive legal documents.
• Analyze cases and recommend file-handling strategies to insured clients and Claims partners.
• Collaborate with expert witnesses and consultants to develop case strategies and prepare testimony.
• Build client relationships, deliver legal training, mentor attorneys and support staff, and contribute to special projects.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent international legal degree from an accredited law school.
• At least 4 years of experience as a practicing attorney; 5+ years of insurance defense litigation experience preferred.
• Active license in good standing to practice law in the state or states where representation is required.
• Experience handling hearings, trials, dispositive motions, depositions, and other court proceedings.
• Strong oral advocacy, legal writing, research, negotiation, case analysis, and presentation skills.
• Valid driver's license may be required depending on the location; ability to travel to court and other meetings is required.
