Area Manager Safety (Environmental Services)

Location: Tinley Park, Illinois, USA

Salary: $120,500–$165,650 per year; 20% annual incentive plan target.

What you will do

• Develop and implement loss prevention programs, safety objectives, policies, procedures, and training across the assigned area.
• Advise area, division, and business unit leadership on proactive safety practices and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor OSHA, Department of Transportation, and other safety program requirements, including inspections, audits, and recordkeeping.
• Partner with HR and operational leaders on onboarding safety training, employee safety meetings, and return-to-duty programs.
• Investigate serious accidents and injuries, oversee minor incident investigations, and analyze safety trends.
• Prepare compliance reports and recommend corrective actions when performance falls below targets.

Requirements

• Minimum five years of experience as a safety professional.
• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Professional safety certification from a nationally recognized organization or a college degree in Safety Management.
• Successful completion of a 40-hour OSHA compliance course.
• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and applicable health and safety standards.
• Valid driver’s license, strong communication and organizational skills, and intermediate Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
