Outside Plant (OSP) Fiber Technician (IBEW 111) (Fiber Optics)

Location: Denver, Colorado; onsite

Salary: $27.28–$35.07 per hour, depending on experience and certifications.

What you will do

• Inspect and accept aerial and underground fiber-optic placement and related OSP construction activities.
• Read construction prints and apply fiber-optic color codes across different installation environments.
• Operate fusion-splicing machines, OTDRs, power meters, light sources, and VFLs.
• Install aerial and underground splice closures and other fiber termination equipment.
• Perform fiber testing and accurately document results according to customer specifications.
• Coordinate additional work with the Foreman and Construction Manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience with electrical construction and aerial or underground placement is preferred.
• Knowledge of CWDM and DWDM networking, including CWDM filter splicing, is preferred.
• Willingness and ability to join the applicable union and work under a collective bargaining agreement.
• Applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
