Location: CA - Los Angeles; field work throughout the Greater Los Angeles area. The role includes nights, weekends, holidays, on-call emergency restoration, and travel across Southern California.
Estimated compensation: $25.76β$39.61 per hour.

What you will do
- Install, splice, restore, test, and maintain aerial, underground, and indoor fiber optic networks.
- Perform fusion splicing on dark fiber and active services using loose tube, ribbon, micro cable, Rapid cable, and other cable types.
- Install, turn up, provision, test, and troubleshoot SONET, WDM, Ethernet, and optical transport equipment.
- Conduct OTDR, Optical Power Meter, BER, PMD, Optical Spectrum Analyzer, and other fiber acceptance testing.
- Respond to outages and emergency restoration events while coordinating with the Network Operations Center on provisioning, alarms, testing, and service acceptance.
- Complete splice records, test documentation, electronic work reports, site surveys, asset labeling, and infrastructure verification.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two to five years of telecommunications experience in fiber splicing, installation, maintenance, or outside plant construction.
- Valid California Driver's License or ability to obtain one upon hire.
- Experience reading engineering prints and splice documentation, with the ability to work independently.
- Currently authorized to work full-time in the United States; employer-sponsored work authorization, including OPT, TN, H1B, or other work visas, is not available.
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation, work outdoors, enter confined spaces, climb ladders and aerial lifts, and lift up to 75 pounds.
Nice to have
- Experience with MPLS, IP transport networks, fiber distribution panels, AC/DC power systems, rectifiers, Network Management Systems, bucket trucks, aerial lifts, utility locating, and California traffic control standards.
- Experience working in dense Los Angeles construction environments, data centers, carrier hotels, underground conduit systems, and aerial distribution networks.
- Military telecommunications experience.
- Associate degree or equivalent technical experience.
