What you will do

• Design, develop, implement, and optimize databases, including information storage, retrieval, data flow, and analysis.
• Develop database structures, parser software, and database loading software within broader system architectures.
• Create and maintain ad hoc queries, scripts, macros, schemas, and master files for data manipulation and retrieval.
• Define short- and long-term database administration and design requirements from project inception through system acceptance testing and initial operational capability.
• Evaluate system improvements, optimization, development, and maintenance efforts.
• Make architectural trade-offs involving data volume, users, distribution, response times, retention, security, and domain controls.

Requirements

• United States citizenship and an appropriate security clearance are required due to federal contract requirements.
• TS/SCI clearance with an agency-appropriate polygraph is required.
• At least five years of database engineering experience on programs or contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, or five additional years of database engineering experience in lieu of the degree.
• Database administration experience with MongoDB or MariaDB, including deployment, management, optimization debugging, and scaling.

Nice to have

• Python, Django, or Flask; REST endpoint development; microservices; and Swagger.
• AWS, C2S, or other cloud experience.
• Docker, JSON or XML serialization, and Visual Studio Code or similar IDEs.
• Jira, Confluence, Git, and experience in an Agile environment.
