Software Engineer II (Python)

Location: Remote - U.S.

Salary: $85,000–$130,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Design and develop custom software, systems, integrations, and Python applications.
• Build solutions with a focus on scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
• Integrate applications with relational and non-relational databases, web services, and structured or unstructured data formats.
• Participate in code reviews, Scrum ceremonies, ticket refinement, sprint planning, and daily standups.
• Work with IT operations teams, QA engineers, business systems analysts, and stakeholders to understand workflows and deliver product improvements.
• Monitor processes and logs, troubleshoot issues, identify design problems, and propose technical or functional enhancements.

Requirements

• At least three years of professional experience with Python.
• Experience with Flask and/or Django, multiple software frameworks, and frontend development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Strong understanding of relational databases such as MySQL, including writing and optimizing complex multi-table queries.
• Experience with non-relational databases such as MongoDB and with RDS and NoSQL systems.
• Experience producing and consuming web services such as REST, SOAP, and AMQP.
• Basic understanding and use of Docker containers, plus the ability to translate functional requirements into technical requirements and identify complexity.

Nice to have

• Experience with frontend frameworks such as React.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Experience with or certifications in AWS or other cloud technologies.
• Knowledge of, or interest in learning, laboratory processes, protocols, and data structures.
