Accounting Manager (Investment Accounting)

Location: Richmond, Virginia; available to Virginia residents only. A hybrid schedule is required, with in-office work on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday during core business hours of 9am–5pm EST.

Salary: $84,400–$127,000 national annual base-pay range, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Prepare timely and accurate investment performance, SEC, U.S. GAAP, and U.S. Statutory reporting for the fixed income portfolio.
• Supervise transaction processing, balance reconciliations, impairment reviews, and security valuation processes.
• Lead accounting policy implementation, strategic process redesign, and initiatives through timely completion.
• Maintain SOX control documentation and evaluate operational control deficiency risks.
• Collaborate with Investment Front, Middle, and Back Office teams as an accounting and reporting advisor for new investment opportunities.
• Lead auditor interactions and provide timely support for routine and new audit requests.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related business discipline.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with GAAP and/or Statutory accounting and reporting.
• Experience researching accounting guidance and applying it to accounting and reporting decisions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple changing priorities and communicate complex information clearly.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Copilot.
