Investment Accounting Senior Analyst

Location: New York, United States; primarily office-based

Base salary: $87,000–$109,000 per year in New York. The position is also eligible for a bonus.

What you will do

• Manage monthly and quarterly investment accounting close processes for international entities.
• Prepare investment disclosures for 10-Q/10-K filings, financial supplements, fair value reporting, VIE footnotes, and investment MD&A.
• Reconcile transactional data from sub-ledgers to the general ledger and financial statements.
• Coordinate with controllers and business units on new investment transactions and ensure accurate ledger treatment.
• Support process improvements, new accounting systems, accounting standards implementation, and investment controls.
• Perform investment data analysis and ad hoc analytical requests.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• At least three years of experience in accounting and reporting for investment products.
• Knowledge of accounting treatment for fixed maturity, equity, cash equivalent, and alternative investments.
• Working knowledge of GAAP, investment-related journal entries, and foreign currency remeasurement and translation.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and collaboration skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities in a time-sensitive environment.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and formulas; database experience is a plus.
