Surveillance Radar Engineer

Location: Remote within the United States; US citizenship required

What you will do

• Provide radar engineering subject matter expertise to FAA program offices and system integrators.
• Support accelerated radar deployment schedules and mitigate technical risks.
• Review engineering designs, test plans, safety assessments, and installation packages.
• Participate in design reviews, readiness reviews, and site commissioning.
• Analyze system performance, mitigate electromagnetic interference and compatibility issues, and support spectrum coordination.
• Prepare technical briefings and recommendations for FAA leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of surveillance radar or air traffic systems experience.
• Knowledge of primary and secondary radar, including Mode 3/A, Mode C, and Mode S operations.
• Strong communication and technical documentation skills.
• Must be a US citizen and pass a BI investigation clearance process.

Nice to have

• FAA or DoD radar program experience.
