Lead Software Engineer (TypeScript/React)

Location: New York, NY or Richmond, VA; hybrid schedule required with in-office days on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Core working hours target 9am–5pm EST.

Salary: $120,900–$187,000 nationally or $151,100–$234,000 in NYC, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Own the technical vision, architecture, and modernization of the Assessment platform for B2B and B2C use cases.
• Design and implement scalable web and mobile applications using TypeScript, React, React Native, Flutter, GraphQL, and REST APIs.
• Establish engineering standards, architectural patterns, coding practices, testing strategies, and quality metrics.
• Build CI/CD pipelines and contribute to DevSecOps, hosting, deployment, runtime, security, and reliability strategies.
• Lead technical design discussions, code reviews, technology decisions, and architectural trade-off analysis.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, security, infrastructure, operations, and shared services teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software development experience, including substantial experience in senior, staff, or principal-level roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Expertise in TypeScript, Node, Next, React, React Native, Flutter, Swift, and Kotlin.
• Strong experience with GraphQL and REST APIs, database design and performance, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Experience with CI/CD, DevSecOps, event-driven and asynchronous systems, messaging and queue-based architectures, and third-party integrations.
• Experience delivering large-scale production platforms, B2B APIs and portals, transaction-based systems, real-time or near-real-time systems, and adopted mobile applications.
