Senior Litigation Construction Liability Claims Representative

Location: Diamond Bar, California, United States; hybrid schedule with up to two days per week at the primary residence

Annual base salary: $94,400–$155,800; eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 and performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Investigate, evaluate, reserve, negotiate, and resolve assigned severe specialty liability bodily injury and property damage claims.
• Analyze coverage, liability, damages, policy language, exclusions, and applicable statutory and case law.
• Interview policyholders, claimants, witnesses, agents, law enforcement, medical providers, and technical experts, and review supporting records.
• Select and direct internal and external resources, including subrogation, risk control, nurse consultants, fraud investigators, and other experts.
• Manage litigated claims by developing litigation plans, selecting and directing counsel, and controlling legal expenses.
• Present cases at roundtables, share resolution techniques, maintain claim files, and ensure compliance with claim quality standards and regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or five years of equivalent business experience; a high school diploma or GED is required.
• At least three years of liability claim handling or comparable litigation claim experience.
• Advanced knowledge of claims and litigation, including commercial lines products, insurance contracts, coverage, liability, damages, investigation, and settlement techniques.
• Strong negotiation, customer service, analytical thinking, judgment, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to make independent decisions, manage complex claims, influence stakeholders, and collaborate with managers, counsel, experts, and business partners.
• Required insurance license(s) must be obtained and maintained when applicable; licenses are generally required within three months of starting.
