Associate Claims Counsel

Location: Hybrid in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, USA

Salary: $85,000–$113,300 annually

What you will do

• Investigate claim facts and legal issues, determine coverage, evaluate losses, and assess defenses under title insurance policies.
• Develop and execute resolution strategies, managing claims and related litigation through final resolution.
• Negotiate settlements with claimants, opposing counsel, and third parties.
• Represent the company in court proceedings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
• Manage claim budgets, approve outside counsel invoices, and determine settlement and expense reserves.
• Direct outside counsel on litigation strategy and identify sources for recovery.

Requirements

• Law degree required.
• Admission to practice law in good standing in any U.S. state is required.
• At least 2 years of experience, with an emphasis on litigation or claims handling.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and develop original, effective solutions.
• Experience with insurance claims and coverage is preferred; real estate experience is preferred.
