Distribution Operations Assistant Supervisor (Electric Distribution Engineering)

Location: San Antonio, Texas, United States. Regional travel to utility client territories is required during business hours, with possible overnight travel.

Salary: USD $30.11–$50.00 per hour. An annual discretionary bonus may also be available.

What you will do

• Supervise electric utility distribution design activities for CPS Energy Customer Design & Delivery teams.
• Assign and schedule work for technicians, designers, analysts, and back-office engineering personnel.
• Manage quality assurance, quality control, records, utilization, timesheets, expenses, and weekly billable goals.
• Support hiring, training, performance evaluations, salary administration, safety, and employee development.
• Track progress across multiple projects and clients, prepare cost estimates and bids, and perform project-lead duties.
• Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, clients, agencies, employees, and the public.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as a Distribution Engineer, Designer, Coordinator, or Analyst.
• Preferred: 2–5 years of CPS Energy CD&D experience covering overhead, underground, and gas distribution designs.
• Experience with CPS Energy applications, GIS, MicroStation, SAP, and ARM; MicroStation and/or AutoCAD experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with the National Electrical Safety Code and CPS Energy Design & Construction Standards.
• High school diploma required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, ability to travel as needed, supervisory and leadership skills, and strong written and verbal communication are required.
