Telecommunications Engineer

What you will do

• Support project deliverables and advise engineering execution teams as a technical advisor.
• Lead and perform telecommunications projects for utilities, municipalities, ISPs, and other clients.
• Develop engineering drawings and specification packages for contractor bidding.
• Design fiber optic, microwave, and two-way radio systems for procurement and implementation.
• Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, utility construction crews, and internal engineering departments.
• Establish project schedules and budgets while tracking technical, schedule, and cost performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 5 years of consulting engineering experience in electric, gas, water, or similar industries.
• Experience with EDX, Planet, Pathloss, or comparable path design software.
• Knowledge of TDM, IP, SONET, GIGE, RF, Mesh, SCADA, P-C, DNP, and 61850 systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience working with clients and engineering teams.
• Ability to learn and develop under the leadership of the Telecom Operations Director.

Nice to have

• EIT certification.
• Experience with CAD and MicroStation.
• Experience working with utilities and ISPs.
