Workers' Compensation Associate Counsel

Location: Diamond Bar, California, United States; regular attendance at trials, depositions, site visits, and other case-related events is required, with travel as needed.

Annual base salary: $85,600–$141,200, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Handle a caseload of lower-complexity workers' compensation litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive legal writing and presentations.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other case documents under experienced counsel supervision.
• Attend court events, depositions, site visits, and other appointments.
• Provide case analysis and recommendations to insured clients and claim partners on file-handling strategy.
• Maintain client and business-partner relationships while using case-management technology and automation.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of litigation experience as a practicing attorney.
• Juris Doctorate or equivalent international legal degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license in good standing to practice law in the state or states where representation is required.
• Strong legal research, writing, oral advocacy, communication, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to transport to case-related events; a valid driver's license may be required depending on location.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships and respond effectively to evolving business needs.
