Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney

Location: Overland Park, Kansas, US; onsite

Salary: $150,000–$250,000 annual

What you will do

• Handle workers' compensation matters from inception through resolution.
• Represent clients in hearings, negotiations, and other litigation proceedings.
• Research statutes, regulations, and case law and apply findings to active matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, correspondence, and other legal documents.
• Advise clients on workers' compensation claims and litigation strategy.
• Negotiate settlements, advocate for clients, and manage multiple cases and deadlines.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• 2–5 years of workers' compensation defense experience.
• Active Kansas Bar admission required.
• Active Missouri Bar admission required, or the ability to obtain admission promptly.
• Strong legal research, writing, verbal communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate with legal professionals, and maintain strong organization and attention to detail.
