Senior Customs Classification Specialist (m/w/x)

What you will do

• Determine HS codes for the product portfolio and assign EZT, TARIC, TARES, and UK Global Tariff classifications.
• Classify goods according to German, EU, and US customs and export-control laws.
• Analyze technical product specifications, drawings, and documentation to determine appropriate classifications.
• Monitor changes to HS codes, tariff systems, export-control regulations, sanctions, and embargoes.
• Support customs-classification audits and investigations.
• Develop and optimize classification processes while coordinating with authorities and external service providers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or technical vocational training with several years of electrical or mechanical engineering experience.
• Strong technical understanding and ability to read technical drawings and documentation.
• Experience with ECCN classification and EU customs practice.
• Direct experience classifying products under the Harmonized Tariff System.
• Strong analytical and technical mindset.
• Fluency in English is required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of customs and foreign trade.
• Knowledge of German.
