Environmental and Safety Specialist (Environmental Health and Safety)

Location: hirify.global San Antonio, United States; onsite work involving prolonged standing and walking in extreme weather conditions

What you will do

• Conduct weekly, monthly, and quarterly environmental and safety inspections of fire extinguishers, emergency eyewash and shower stations, grease bins, emergency generators, bulk containers, and tanks.
• Collect and sort universal waste, including toner cartridges, lamps, and batteries.
• Assist with responses to oil spills, fire emergencies, and other safety incidents.
• Support fire drills and other emergency drills to maintain compliance with local, state, federal, and SEA guidelines.
• Assist with EHS special projects and other assigned duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Safe work practices, including use of personal protective equipment, proper lifting techniques, and reporting unsafe conditions.
• Working knowledge of computers and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to become certified in Safety department training programs such as Intelex.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage confidential information and varied tasks.
• Ability to walk long distances, climb lengthy staircases, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and work prolonged periods in extreme weather conditions; availability for opening, mid, closing, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Nice to have

• Environmental, health, or safety experience.
• Knowledge of fire safety equipment and systems.
• Valid driver's license, some college coursework, previous theme park experience, or OSHA 10 certification.
