Sr. Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist

Location: On-site in Mentor, Ohio, Monday through Friday; weekend on-site availability may be required for emergencies. Up to 5% travel.

Salary: $83,000–$111,000 per year

What you will do

• Serve as the primary EHS resource for the corporate headquarters and support three additional North American facilities.
• Implement EHS programs and facility-specific procedures to maintain regulatory and company compliance.
• Track compliance initiatives and maintain OSHA logs, governmental records, and corporate databases.
• Lead accident prevention, emergency response, incident investigation, inspections, and continuous improvement activities.
• Facilitate management of change, pre-start-up safety reviews, job safety analysis, chemical approvals, and R&D procedure evaluations.
• Train and mentor facility safety teams and collaborate with multiple corporate functions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field preferred, with 5+ years of experience.
• Demonstrated experience handling complex EHS assignments and delivering results with increasing scope.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements, EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
• Knowledge of process safety management or familiarity with solvent processes and solvent safety.
• Strong project, problem-resolution, leadership, communication, mentoring, facilitation, and training skills.
• Must be able to work on site in Mentor, Ohio, Monday through Friday, and support a 24-hour operation in emergencies.

Nice to have

• Advanced EHS certification such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, QEP, CEA, or REM.
• Experience in a research and development laboratory environment.
