Location: Canyon, Texas, United States. The role requires onsite work Monday–Friday during normal business hours, with flex scheduling from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. After six months of service and adequate training, up to 16 hours per week may be performed remotely through the PRAWL program. Saturday rotation participation is required after training. Visa sponsorship is available.

What you will do
- Perform routine and complex diagnostic assays, including testing for regulatory diseases and surveillance programs.
- Prepare samples, reagents, standards, and controls, and troubleshoot assay or instrument problems.
- Interpret laboratory results, review technician work, and communicate findings and recommendations to clients.
- Support assay development and validation, including protocol documentation and instrument configuration.
- Lead quality assurance and safety activities, maintain equipment, and oversee supplies and inventory.
- Train and mentor technicians, contribute to proficiency testing, and collaborate with other diagnostic laboratories.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- At least two years of related experience.
- Ability to independently report laboratory results, troubleshoot technical and scientific problems, and recommend solutions.
- Ability to use advanced computer software for data analysis, statistical analysis, and graphing.
- Ability to work onsite in Canyon during required business hours and participate in a Saturday rotation after training.
- Pre-exposure rabies vaccination series and export-control authorization are required.
Nice to have
- More than two years of technical experience in scientific research, clinical, experimental, or diagnostic work.
- Experience working within a quality assurance and safety program.
