Manager, Health & Safety (Distribution Centers)

Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada; onsite across three Western Region distribution centers

Salary: CAD 94,400–123,900 per year, determined based on relevant experience.

What you will do

• Implement, lead, and manage the Walmart Canada H&S Management System and W CARE Program across three distribution centers supporting more than 2,000 associates.
• Lead safety transformation and employee engagement initiatives to reduce workplace injuries and incidents year over year.
• Manage and develop a team of five H&S professionals, enabling them to identify facility risks and implement corrective actions.
• Partner with general managers, directors, and site leadership to build business cases and support H&S initiatives across multiple locations.
• Deliver safety training, workplace inspections, compliance programs, and ongoing H&S communications.
• Review H&S trends and KPIs, improve incident investigations and root cause analysis, and ensure effective corrective measures.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Subject matter expertise in workplace health and safety and experience leading H&S functions.
• Experience with qualitative and quantitative risk assessment methods, including Job Hazard Analysis, Job Safety Analysis, ergonomic assessments, job demand analysis, and hazard risk assessments.
• Ability to identify workplace hazards and execute risk mitigation strategies through cross-functional project teams.
• Ability to communicate effectively, influence stakeholders, and collaborate with senior site leadership.
• Technical knowledge of workplace risks, hazards, H&S technologies, and current safety methodologies.
