TL;DR
Sr. Manufacturing Engineer (RF/Microwave): Driving manufacturing process optimization and product improvement for complex RF and microwave hardware in a high-mix, low-volume environment with an accent on manufacturability, quality, and production efficiency. Focus on designing process flows and tooling, solving yield and assembly issues, supporting DFM and NPI, and applying Lean methods to regulated aerospace manufacturing.

Location: Chandler, Arizona, United States; onsite manufacturing role

What you will do

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives for manufacturing process optimization, cost reduction, and product improvement across RF and microwave product lines.
  • Analyze manufacturing methods, process flows, tooling, and facility layouts for specialized hardware in a high-mix, low-volume environment.
  • Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions for yield, quality, and assembly issues.
  • Participate in DFM reviews and improve manufacturability of integrated microwave assemblies, frequency control devices, converters, filters, and synthesizers.
  • Develop manufacturing instructions, routings, and procedures aligned with quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor junior engineers, support MRB and NPI teams, evaluate ROI and make-or-buy decisions, and resolve technical issues with internal teams, vendors, and customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in high-reliability electronics or RF/microwave production.
  • Knowledge of RF electronics manufacturing methods, including soldering, mechanical assembly, bonding, and environmental testing.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and customer specifications and support high-mix product builds.
  • Working knowledge of Lean principles, root cause analysis, 5 Why, Fishbone, and PFMEA.
  • Experience with manufacturing KPIs, work instructions, and regulated production such as AS9100 and MIL-STD.

Nice to have

  • Defense, aerospace, or regulated electronics manufacturing experience.
  • RF/microwave systems or component experience.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, CAD tools, and process mapping platforms.
  • Exposure to Crane Business System or similar continuous improvement frameworks.
