What you will do
- Lead the implementation of Design for Manufacturability and Design for Assembly principles on critical new product introduction programs.
- Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to optimize manufacturability and quality.
- Architect process flows and workstation layouts for new production lines, including efficiency and ergonomics considerations.
- Design, develop, and validate complex production tooling and fixtures.
- Perform root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership in manufacturing engineering practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline; a higher-level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering.
- Experience leading DFM/DFA workshops for complex systems and managing manufacturing engineering deliverables from concept through production ramp.
- Expert proficiency with CAD software and process documentation, plus advanced knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Extensive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment and experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.
Nice to have
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification.
- Experience with digital manufacturing, Industry 4.0, and aerospace and defense programs.
- Knowledge of GD&T according to ASME Y14.5, parametric design, model-based definition, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience developing work instructions and travelers, handling non-conformances through an MRB, and transitioning new products to production.
- Exposure to PLM, MES, and MRP systems.
