Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing

Location: Bayan Lepas, Malaysia, with a secondary location at the KL COE Office; travel of 20–30% to supplier sites and hirify.global manufacturing facilities.

What you will do

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for capital equipment used in wafer fabrication, HDD/SSD manufacturing, and testing.
• Lead supplier selection, negotiations, contract execution, and total cost of ownership optimization for high-value equipment portfolios.
• Build strategic relationships with Tier-1 OEMs and manage supplier performance, supply continuity, and risk mitigation.
• Structure commercial arrangements covering pricing, payment terms, warranties, services, IP, consignment, leasing, and performance-based contracts.
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, Finance, Legal, Global Operations, Export Control, and Trade Compliance on equipment procurement and technology transitions.
• Lead and mentor sourcing team members while improving procurement processes, tools, analytics, and digital transformation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive procurement or sourcing experience, including 5+ years in capital equipment for semiconductor, HDD, SSD, or related high-tech manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
• Experience negotiating capital equipment agreements valued at $50M or more with major OEMs.
• Deep knowledge of semiconductor fabrication equipment, HDD/SSD manufacturing equipment, or advanced test systems.
• Knowledge of capital budgeting, ROI analysis, depreciation models, export controls including EAR and ITAR, IP protection, and technology transfer regulations.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, stakeholder management, project management, and executive communication skills, with experience managing Asia-based supply chains.

Nice to have

• MBA or another advanced degree.
• Experience driving capital equipment cost savings, supplier performance improvements, supply continuity, contract compliance, and sourcing process efficiency.
