Direct Procurement Specialist (Chemical Sourcing)

Location: Onsite in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia

What you will do

• Convert purchase requisitions into purchase orders in the ERP system and track shipments for on-time delivery.
• Source chemical raw materials by interpreting molecular specifications and verifying material compliance.
• Collaborate with R&D and Quality teams to evaluate new chemical suppliers.
• Maintain ERP master data, including pricing, lead times, safety stock levels, and supplier contacts.
• Coordinate invoice price discrepancy resolution with Accounts Payable and manage supplier material returns with Quality Assurance.
• Compile monthly supplier scorecards covering OTIF delivery and defect-rate KPIs.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain coordination, or inventory management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
• Ability to interpret chemical specifications and molecular data to identify and source raw materials.
• Fluent written and spoken English and Malay required for coordination with internal departments and local vendors.
• Strong attention to detail, sense of urgency, clear communication, and basic problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with SAP or another ERP system.
• Mandarin proficiency for managing relationships with regional service providers.
