Distribution Engineer IV (Power Distribution)

Location: Lanham, Maryland; candidates must reside in the United States.

Salary: USD $60.00–$62.00 per hour, plus potential eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Design and review electrical distribution systems of varying size and complexity.
• Prepare detailed designs, budgetary estimates, equipment specifications, engineering calculations, reports, and feasibility studies.
• Use client GIS and work management systems, PLS-CADD, and PLS-POLE for distribution and power-line engineering.
• Collect field measurements and data, review documentation, and verify design adequacy.
• Monitor construction work for compliance with project plans, specifications, engineering codes, and construction practices.
• Coordinate assigned projects, evaluate contractor invoices and engineering alternatives, and maintain accurate project records.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural, electrical, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in transmission or distribution engineering.
• California Professional Engineer Civil license (P.E.) required.
• Proficiency with Excel, power-line and structure modeling, PLS-CADD, and PLS-POLE.
• Experience performing quality assurance and quality control reviews.
• Knowledge of NESC, GO95, and industry codes, standards, and practices for electric utilities; demonstrated leadership, communication, and attention to detail.
