Photographer/Video Editor

Location: Richmond, Virginia, United States; onsite work involving studio and occasional outdoor assignments

What you will do

• Shoot video for news reports and compose, execute, and select effective shots for broadcast stories.
• Organize, edit, trim, and reassemble raw footage to match scripts and specified durations.
• Review edited sequences and apply required corrections, audio effects, visual effects, and titles.
• Operate computer editing systems, video switching equipment, digital video effects units, and broadcast equipment.
• Operate live microwave systems, satellite trucks, and TVU Backpack equipment.
• Maintain video equipment and coordinate assignments, logistics, and shot requirements with colleagues.

Requirements

• College degree or equivalent related experience.
• Fluency in English and excellent oral and written communication skills.
• At least two years of experience operating video editing equipment.
• Proficiency with video editing equipment, computers, and standard office equipment.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and manage multiple tasks.
• Availability for any shift, including overnight and weekend work.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere.
