Senior Mechanical Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Provide mechanical engineering guidance for complex equipment and systems.
• Investigate operational issues, evaluate malfunctions, and design system modifications.
• Develop applications and complex test procedures for equipment and systems.
• Estimate manpower and materials, prepare schedules, and coordinate program activities.
• Supervise technicians during fabrication and installation of mechanical and related electronic systems.
• Prepare, review, and maintain drawings, reports, test results, technical manuals, and other required documentation.

Requirements

• Master’s or doctorate in Mechanical Engineering with ABET accreditation and 10 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in the DoD or other USG ISR/SOF organizations; or a bachelor’s degree with ABET accreditation and 12 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in those organizations.
• On-aircraft or on-wing experience and depot maintenance experience with military aircraft.
• Experience working in an MRO environment, evaluating non-conformances, designing structural repairs, and troubleshooting mechanical systems such as landing gear and flight controls.
• Secret security clearance required.
• Availability for approximately 15% travel.
