TL;DR
Radar Systems Test Engineer - Junior (Radar Systems): Developing and executing ground and flight tests for tactical and fixed radar systems supporting air traffic control and command-and-control operations with an accent on test planning, requirements verification, and test data analysis. Focus on creating test procedures and reports, analyzing system performance, documenting deficiencies, and supporting developmental and operational test activities.

Location: Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, United States. Full-time onsite role with up to 25% travel, including CONUS and OCONUS destinations and worldwide sites.

What you will do

  • Support the 46 Test Squadron C5ISR Agile Test Flight with radar systems test activities.
  • Plan, develop, execute, and report on ground and flight tests for tactical and fixed radar systems supporting command-and-control operations.
  • Develop test objectives, procedures, metrics, charters, test strategies, and related modeling and simulation documentation.
  • Collect, reduce, and analyze test data against mission objectives and system requirements.
  • Document system deficiencies and anomalies, participate in deficiency review boards, and verify corrective actions.
  • Support developmental, operational, qualification, force development, certification, and test-readiness activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 0–3 years of relevant technical experience; additional experience may substitute for education.
  • Active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.
  • Experience maintaining and operating fixed or tactical radar systems supporting air traffic control and command-and-control systems.
  • Ability to interpret Department of Defense and Air Force test directives, guides, manuals, and technical orders.
  • Ability to review system requirements and develop test documents, procedures, methods of test, and reports.
  • Effective oral and written communication, including technical writing, briefings, and formal presentations; willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays when mission requirements demand.

Nice to have

  • Experience with fixed and mobile tactical radar systems, tactical communications, sensors, and computer-based systems.
  • Experience operating RS4, Radar Environment Simulator, and Radar Analysis Support System tools.
  • Experience with USAF technical order management or equivalent commercial manuals.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access.
  • Developmental or operational testing experience.
