AESA Radar Technician

Location: Virginia Beach, VA; Port Hueneme, CA; or Pascagoula, MS. Travel of 25%–30% is required for shipboard and land-based testing and technical assistance.

What you will do

• Serve as a subject matter expert for Navy surveillance radar systems supporting the In-Service Engineering Agent.
• Support the development, testing, fielding, upgrades, and life-cycle technical support of radar systems.
• Provide remote technical assistance and shipboard troubleshooting, maintenance, installation support, and repair for deployed radar systems.
• Develop and update technical documentation, reports, Ship Installation Drawings, and Ship Alteration Records.
• Prepare laboratories and classrooms for radar training and land-based testing activities.
• Perform post-installation System Operational Verification Testing and On-the-Job Training while coordinating installation data and schedules with maintenance centers.

Requirements

• Active DoD Secret clearance is required.
• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, mathematics, or another STEM field.
• Practical experience with engineering design, test and evaluation, supportability analysis, and Navy radar systems or radar-data analysis tools.
• Experience with requirements definition, technical documentation, system fielding, testing, data analysis, and engineering reports.
• Working knowledge of Change Requests and Engineering Change Proposals, plus familiarity with reliability engineering, supply support, training, configuration management, and test equipment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and competence with Microsoft Office applications.

Nice to have

• Experience with MATLAB for system modeling, Python, or similar programming languages.
• Experience with DOORS, Rhapsody, or other digital engineering tools.
• Familiarity with US Navy radar installation processes and underway operations.
