TL;DR
Technical Manager I (Energy Efficiency): Managing field inspectors, analysts, and commercial and industrial energy-efficiency project inspections with an accent on QA/QC, safety, compliance, and client engagement. Focus on coordinating New Jersey site visits, analyzing program risks and performance trends, maintaining inspection workflows and documentation, and ensuring accurate, timely deliverables.

Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey, United States; primarily field work and site visits across New Jersey with in-office meetings and focus time

Salary: USD 90,000–115,086.40 per year

What you will do

  • Supervise field inspectors, project processors, and analysts while managing team workflows and inspection pipelines.
  • Coordinate and schedule commercial and industrial energy-efficiency site visits across New Jersey.
  • Validate project scopes, applications, records, program rules, client requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain QA/QC logs, safety guidelines, program manuals, operational procedures, tools, workflows, and reports.
  • Conduct inspections, document site conditions with findings and photographs, and track corrective actions.
  • Analyze risks, trends, gaps, and performance against KPIs; communicate findings to clients, safety teams, stakeholders, and management.

Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the United States is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in energy efficiency, QA/QC, or field supervision.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or an associate degree with 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of building science, including mechanical, electrical, and weatherization systems.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM software, record keeping, flowcharts, and technical documentation.

Nice to have

  • Experience conducting energy-efficiency inspections for commercial or industrial buildings.
  • Residency in a region identified by the State of New Jersey as an Overburdened Community.
  • Strong critical-thinking, analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
