Salary: USD $100,006.40–$145,600 per year, plus potential annual discretionary bonus

What you will do

  • Interpret and implement environmental and agricultural regulatory requirements for electric transmission, natural gas pipeline, and wind and solar energy projects.
  • Perform environmental and agricultural inspector duties, including environmental compliance, stormwater, and agricultural inspections.
  • Coordinate field work, manage field staffing across multiple projects, and provide technical guidance to staff, clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve environmental compliance programs and perform QA/QC reviews of field reports.
  • Represent clients in meetings and field visits with agencies including DPS, ORES, NYSDEC, and NYSAGM.
  • Prepare compliance proposals, manage contracting scopes and rates, and oversee large project budgets and schedules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, natural resources, biology, ecology, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of post-degree experience, including permitting and/or construction oversight at federal, state, and local levels.
  • Experience with New York Article 10, Section 94-c, Article VII/Article VIII, Part 102, SEQRA, NYSDEC Resource Programs, the Federal Clean Water Act, and FERC certificates.
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance and permitting regulations administered by FERC, USEPA, USACE, USFWS, PSC, ORES, NYSDEC, and NYSAGM.
  • Strong budget management, organization, prioritization, reporting, and technical communication skills.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle records check.

Nice to have

  • Previous staff management experience.
  • New York environmental or agricultural inspector experience.
  • Construction management experience and exceptional interpersonal skills.
