Director, Data Engineering (Enterprise Data Products & Engineering)

Location: CT - Hartford, United States

Annual base salary: $139,400–$230,000, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Lead the development of analytic data products, including pilots and proof of concepts.
• Direct teams building pipelines and data solutions for AI, machine learning, business intelligence, and enterprise insights.
• Execute data strategies aligned with enterprise architecture, platforms, consumption patterns, and application infrastructure.
• Operationalize and automate secure, supported, and scalable data capabilities.
• Present analysis and recommendations to influence management decisions.
• Mentor data engineers, establish team processes, and maintain relationships with partner teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related STEM field, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least 6 additional years of data engineering experience.
• Five or more years of related experience balancing leadership and hands-on technical responsibilities.
• Two or more years of management experience leading and developing technical professionals.
• Advanced hands-on knowledge of Databricks, Snowflake, Data Vault 2.0, Python, and SQL.
• Familiarity with AI tools, concepts, workflows, and AI-powered platforms such as Claude.
