Data Engineer V - US (AI/RAG)

Location: US — work from home

Salary: $165,830–$243,141.80 per year, depending on geographic market, skills, knowledge, and experience. Additional compensation may include annual bonuses, incentives, equity awards, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

What you will do

• Lead and mentor a data engineering pod, prioritize workload, and drive on-time Agile delivery.
• Direct the architecture and standards for EDW pipelines, batch and streaming systems, and AI/RAG data infrastructure.
• Define source management, version control, QA/testing, CI/CD, documentation, SOP, and escalation standards.
• Own pipeline metrics, SLA/SLO tracking, KPI reporting, root-cause analysis, and back-to-green plans.
• Translate business and clinical stakeholder needs into roadmaps covering pipelines, data products, and AI/RAG capabilities.
• Coordinate with data science, security, and compliance teams while overseeing on-call escalation and cloud and AI usage costs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 8–12 years of technology experience with significant data-centric leadership.
• 6–8 years of hands-on experience architecting data solutions on a cloud platform.
• At least 2 years of formal experience leading engineers or technical workstreams.
• Expert knowledge of SQL, data modeling, semantic-layer design, Spark, Airflow, Databricks or Snowflake, and CI/CD practices.
• Experience setting AI/RAG data pipeline standards, including embedding strategy, vector-store selection, corpus curation, security, and privacy controls.

Nice to have

• Cloud Professional Data Engineer or ML Engineer certification.
• Experience with HIPAA, HL7, or FHIR healthcare data compliance frameworks.
• Experience defining LLM/RAG data architecture standards at scale.
