Senior Databricks Consultant (Data Engineering)

Location: Onsite in the Arlington, VA office; position listed in Fairfax, Virginia, United States. Must be a US citizen and hold an active TS/SCI-CI Poly clearance. Travel to customer sites may be required.

Salary: $175,000–$250,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines in Databricks.
• Optimize Databricks workflows and clusters for performance and cost efficiency.
• Integrate Databricks with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms.
• Implement data governance, security, and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality datasets and insights.
• Troubleshoot data infrastructure issues and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI-CI Poly clearance and US citizenship required.
• Production experience with Databricks and hands-on experience building and managing ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or SQL and experience with Apache Spark.
• Knowledge of data lakehouse architecture, data modeling, data quality, and performance tuning.
• Experience with AWS S3, Azure Data Lake, or GCP Storage, plus CI/CD and Git.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience with Databricks MLflow, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and streaming technologies.
• Experience with Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Terraform, ARM, or CloudFormation.
• Background in data security, compliance, DevOps/MLOps, consulting, or customer-facing delivery.
• Project management experience and familiarity with Agile methodologies.
