TL;DR

Location: Dallas, Texas, with travel on Mobile Health Assessment Centers to various counties within Texas

Compensation: Commensurate with qualifications; hourly paid position.

What you will do

  • Lead daily clinical research data collection, including vital signs, anthropometric measurements, body composition assessments, and participant questionnaires.
  • Collect, process, label, store, and transport blood, urine, saliva, stool, breastmilk, and hair or nail specimens in accordance with study protocols.
  • Engage English- and Spanish-speaking research participants, explain study procedures, interpret communications, and translate written information as needed.
  • Maintain accurate electronic participant records, research databases, data capture systems, and specimen chain-of-custody documentation.
  • Maintain clinical rooms, supplies, equipment, point-of-care testing documentation, and infection-control standards.
  • Mentor staff and student workers, monitor adverse events, escalate concerns, and coordinate with clinical management and research teams.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, completion of a medical assistant training program, and three years of related experience.
  • At least one year of phlebotomy experience.
  • Current CPR, BLS, and AED training and certification.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, with the ability to interpret and translate accurately between both languages.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications, along with strong communication, organization, confidentiality, and teamwork skills.
  • Availability for evening and weekend research visits, travel within Texas, and lifting or moving light and moderate objects.

Nice to have

  • Clinical or public health research experience involving specimen collection and data management.
  • Familiarity with CLIA-waived testing, BSL-2 procedures, mobile health operations, REDCap, Microsoft Office, and electronic medical record systems.
  • Certified Medical Assistant certification through AAMA, AMT, NHA, or an equivalent accredited program.
  • Leadership, problem-solving, customer service, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
